Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday tweeted a prayer for the quick recovery of the Indian soldier found alive on the Siachen glacier six days after being buried due to an avalanche. In his tweet, Naveen wrote: “My prayers for our brave solider #Hanumanthappa. Salutations to our Army for this outstanding effort”. 

Protest 

Bhubaneswar: A group of ganasikshaks from the SC/ST category on Wednesday shaved their heads to protest against the state government for delaying its decision on full grant to aided schools. Eight representatives of the teachers held a meeting with the inter-ministerial sub-committee consisting of school and mass education minister Debi Prasad Mishra, parliamentary affairs minister Bikram Keshari Arukh and health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak on Tuesday.

Tusker saved

Sambalpur: Forest and fire department officials rescued a wild tusker, which had fallen into an open well in a farmland near Panapalli village under Kuchinda forest division here.
