Padhi focus

Bhubaneswar: Chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Wednesday stressed on the need to strengthen broadband and telecom connectivity across the state in a bid to widen the sphere of cashless transactions in Odisha. In a meeting via video conference, Padhi also asked the Centre to address the issue of cash shortage in the state.

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday suspended Sabita Rout, the chairperson of Vyasanagar Municipality in Jajpur, for anti-party activities.

Sethy plea

Bhubaneswar: Artha Tatwa chief Pradeep Sethy on Wednesday pleaded guilty of all charges levelled against him by the CBI.

Trains

Bhubaneswar: Several trains to and from Bhubaneswar have been cancelled following the derailment of the Sealdah-Ajmer Express near Kanpur. These train include the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express, Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express and the Bhubaneswar-Anand Vihar Odisha Sampark Kranti Express.

Showcause

Sambalpur: The Bargarh district administration on Wednesday served a showcause notice to Hrushikesh Bhoi, who has been selected to play King Kansa at Dhanu yatra. He has been slapped the notice for enacting the role at Dharmashala Mahotsav in Jajpur on Tuesday.
