Varsity grade
Cuttack: Ravenshaw University has been rated with A grade under the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. It is for the first time that the educational institution has been rated after it became an university in 2006.
Rounds fired
Balasore: A youth blank-fired six rounds of bullets in front of Fakir Mohan College in Balasore district on Friday. Sources said three to four youths were present along with him. Though no casualty was reported, panic gripped the residents. The reason behind the firing was yet to be ascertained.
CBI remand
Bhubaneswar: CBI has taken Debjani Mukherjee, one of the directors of Saradha group, on a four-day remand. The group is accused of swindling almost Rs 400 crore in Odisha. She played a key role in the decision-making process of the company and was arrested in 2013.
Youth killed
Nayagarh: Goons beat a youth to death at Balabhadrapur village in Nayagarh on Friday. The deceased, identified as Bamadeb Pradhan, was a resident of the same village. It is suspected that he might have been killed over previous
enmity.
Bus service
Jajpur: Transport Minister Pradeep Majhi on Friday inaugurated a free bus service for students from Jajpur road to Sukinda. Majhi, who was on a visit to the district, said buses would shortly ply at Nagada village in Sukinda block under Biju Gaon Gaadi Yojana.
