IPS rejig Iranian national CBI raid  Police at SBI Safety for CM   Lecture Recruitment

IPS rejig

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Monday effected a minor rejig in the IPS cadre. Debasish Panigrahi has been posted as Additional Director General (Vigilance), while  Sanjay Kumar Singh has been given the charge of Inspector General (Personnel). Narasingha Bhol became Deputy Inspector General (Special Intelligence Wing).

Iranian national

Raygada: The sub-division judicial magistrate court here sentenced an Iranian national, identified as Narges K. Ashtari, to a year in jail for the murder of a girl in 2014. 

CBI raid 

Sambalpur: The CBI on Monday raided the lubricant depot of Indian Oil Corporation Limited's Carrying and Forwarding Agent in Sambalpur. The raid was conducted at the Kalamati depot. Irregularities amounting to Rs 5 crore have been reported against the depot.

Police at SBI

Sambalpur: A police team visited the SBI main branch here to seek the bank’s co-operation in investigating the recovery of Rs 1.43 crore on Saturday. The cops had arrested eight persons in this connection.

Safety for CM  

Bhubaneswar: The route taken by chief minister Naveen Patnaik during his travel within the city would soon be barricaded. According to police commissioner Y.B. Khurania the entire stretch from Naveen Niwas to Jayadev Vihar would be barricaded with iron grills. He said the step would help to reduce the manpower required to guard the chief minister’s cavalcade and it will also add aesthetic value to the city. 

Lecture

Bhubaneswar: Gopal Krishna Gandhi, the former Bengal governor and grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, will deliver the 28th Harekrushna Mahatab lecture at Jayadev Bhavan on Tuesday. Gandhi will deliver a lecture on “The Leaders in India - Past, Present and Future.”

Recruitment 

Bhubaneswar: The online selection system for recruitment of constables was inaugurated on Monday by chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the Secretariat. Through this recruitment system, applicants would now be able to apply for the post of constables online.
