Mishap death

Rayagada: A man was killed in an accident near Kaliaguda in the district on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Bibhisana Nayak. The incident took place in the morning when Nayak was returning home on his bike.

Maoist posters

Balangir: Three Maoist posters were found at Ghamari village in Balangir district. In the posters, the local divisional committee has urged people to support some of their demands, said sources.

Fake currency 

Balangir: Police busted a fake currency racket at Khaprakhol in Balangir on Wednesday and arrested four in this connection. Two printers have been also seized. According to reports, employees of a filling station suspected foul play when the youths paid them cash. The officials then overpowered the youths and informed the police.

Jaya health

Bhubaneswar: School and mass education minister Debi Prasad Mishra met Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha in Chennai and enquired about her health. Besides, the minister also conveyed chief minister Naveen Patnaik’s message to her. 

Cash looted

Khurda: A businessman was looted of Rs 2 lakh at Jatni in Khurda on Wednesday. According to sources, three goons snatched the money from Upendra Behera near Niser campus in Jatni and fled from the spot. 

Body found

Balasore: Body of a 12-year-old girl, who was feared drowned in Budhabalanga river on Sunday, was found on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Rina Jena, a native of Basta.
