OCS results
Cuttack: The Odisha Public Service Commission has announced the results of the Odisha Civil Service (Preliminary) examination on Wednesday. The prelims were conducted on November 8. According to the results, 8,067 candidates out of 44,222 candidates who appeared for the exam have qualified for the OCS (Main) examination.
Bhitarkanika
Kendrapara: Bhitarkanika National Park will remain closed for visitors from January 8 to 17 for the annual census of saltwater crocodiles and migratory birds. Around 17 teams will be deployed for the purpose.

Sambalpur: Sambalpur University conferred the prestigious Gangadhar National Award for Poetry on noted Bengali poet, Subodh Sarkar, on the occasion of the 49th foundation day on Wednesday.
Beach fest
Balasore: The four-day-long annual Golden Beach Festival at Chandipur will begin on Thursday. “On the inaugural day, Major Nitin Joshi, a Guinness Book of World Record holder in several events will lead a 11km torch rally,” said festival committee secretary Bismay Mohanty.
Agitation
Bhubaneswar: The contractual teachers on cease work have decided to stop their agitation after getting an assurance from school and mass education minister Debi Prasad Mishra for their reinstatement within the next three months. The state government will take out fresh notification for retrenched contractual teachers meeting the age and eligibility criteria.
