Youth killed

Bhubaneswar: A 25-year-old youth was killed near Gothapatna in Chandaka police limits over a trivial issue of parking of motorcycle. The police said Prasant Parida had an argument with Batu Sundaray over parking of his motorcycle. Batu and his associates assaulted Parida. The police have lodged a murder case and started a manhunt to nab the accused.

Harass cuffs

Bhubaneswar: Police arrested a businessman on charges of harassing his wife. The accused, Ranjit Mohanty, was arrested after his wife had lodged a case against him. The police said Mohanty was a distributor of a leading computer accessories company.

Felicitation

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday felicitated Ananya Singh for her deliberation on nuclear disarmament at the Young Global Scholars Programme in Yale. Ananya is a student of DAV, Chandrasekharpur. The chief minister wished her success in all her future endeavours.

Case filed

Sambalpur: The GRP on Tuesday registered a case against an unknown person under sections 341, 323 and 325 of the Indian Penal Code in a case in which a woman ticket collector had allegedly pushed a girl off a running train at Sambalpur Road railway station on Monday.
