Sorcery attack

Berhampur: A group of villagers at Pentha attacked eight members of a family, including a 14-month-old infant, suspecting them of practising witchcraft. The victims were taken to Digapahandi community health centre. Sudam Paika is the eldest son of Kashinath, whose family was assaulted. So far, police have detained one in this connection.

Seven hurt

Balangir: Seven members of a family suffered burn injuries when a cooking gas cylinder burst and caught fire in 
a house at Lakshminagar para here. Four of the injured were shifted to VSS Hospital at Burla.

Paradip plan

Paradip: The Union government is planning to establish a medical college and hospital in Paradip. Road, 
transport and shipping minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday announced this at a function organised by the Paradip Port Trust.
