Licence move 

Bhubaneswar: In order to inculcate safe driving practice in youths, chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday directed the transport officials to distribute driving licences among college students by organising camps. 

Driving tests would also be organised to help students get licence easily.

Sambalpur: Sabita Hembrum, 25, died after being bitten by a snake in her house  at Kadelpal in Jamankira police limits on Wednesday.

IAS rejig

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Wednesday affected some changes in duties among senior IAS officers. General administration secretary G.V.V. Sharma, who is also the  special relief commissioner, was given additional charge of being the managing director of the disaster management agency and administrative reforms department. 

C. J. Venugopal was appointed as the principal secretary to the governor with the additional charge of the science and technology department. 

Ranjana Chopra will take charge as the school and mass education secretary.
