Fraud cuffs 

Bhubaneswar: A 55-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for duping around 20 para- medical staff members of 
Rs 92 lakh on the pretext of providing them land at Patia. Abdul Khan is also an associate of the mastermind of the fraud, Bipini Bihari Das, a pathologist. Police are also trying to nab Das.

Sunstroke

Bhubaneswar: Out of alleged 174-sunstroke death cases reported in the state, 46 have been confirmed. The state government on Sunday informed that the death toll  has reached 46 while 46 other such cases are under investigation. 

Threat arrest 

Balasore: A 25-year-old man was arrested by Town police on the charges of threatening and demanding money through SMS to a businessman. The accused Satyajit Nayak of Sunahat village has been sent to jail following rejection of his bail plea. 

Memorandum 

Balasore: The ex-servicemen of Balasore, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj held a rally and submitted a memorandum to the President and Prime Minster of India demanding immediate implementation of One Rank One Pension on Sunday. The community headed by major general (retired) R. Sahoo submitted the memorandum to the sub-collector R.K. Palta.
