Bhubaneswar: The agriculture department has cancelled Raja holidays of its officials to tackle the drought situation in the state. Agriculture minister Pradeep Maharathy announced this on Monday.

Bhubaneswar: Police on Monday registered a case against the management of a star hotel from where media honcho 
P. K. Iyer was arrested. Iyer, who was wanted in a cheating case involving Rs 357 crore, had stayed in the hotel for more than two months. Police registered a case against the hotel for concealing information.

NTPC college

Bhubaneswar: While making a presentation before chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday eminent architect Hafeez 
Contractor said the construction of the proposed medical college, which is to be set up in Sundargarh by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), will begin from August 15 and will be completed within two years.

Five killed

Angul: Five persons died and two others were injured when their Bolero rammed into a parked truck on NH-149 at Nuthuripasi Chhak near Khamar on Monday. Four of them were employees of Khamar dispensary while the fifth was the son of an employee.
