Bhubaneswar: Police on Friday took ARSS chairman Subash Agarwal on a three-day remand for questioning in connection with the attack on Ajay Kumar, joint general manager of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited. Agarwal was arrested on Sunday for masterminding the assault
Lie detection
Bhubaneswar: Police, who are yet to solve the case regarding the death of social worker Nalini Prabha Das, on Friday conducted a lie detection test on autorickshaw driver Munna and Das’s nephew Brundaban Barik. While Munna used to drive Das from home to work and back, Barik had alleged that a few goons had threatened the social worker to vacate her plot. Das’s body was found from her room on May 24.
Lecturer’s body found
Sambalpur: The body of Himansu Dashmohapatra, 48, a lecturer in Philosophy in Gangadhar Meher University, was found from his government quarter at Lecturers Colony here on Friday. The deceased, who hails from Balasore, was staying alone. A police official said he was a psychiatric patient and also had heart-related problems. The police suspected it to be a suicide case. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Red operation
Angul: Intense combing operations by the special operations group are on in forests close to Satkoshia Wildlife Sanctuary to flush out Maoist militants sighted by local villagers. The operation started following a tip-off about alleged Maoist movement in their areas. Senior police officials have rushed to the spot.

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday held a meeting with the scheduled caste development advisory board and said there would be more hostels for SC students in school and college levels.
