Ponzi cuffs

Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing on Friday arrested Manoj Patnaik, a director of Vista Management 
Services Limited, a deposit collection company that allegedly duped investors of Rs 50 crores.

DGP visit

Bhubaneswar: The director-general of police Sanjeev Marik on Friday visited the cut-off areas of Malkangiri and reviewed the construction of Gurupriya bridge, which will be the only link to the area. The area has become a Maoist hub, as there is no access to the area except by boats.

Cycle rally

Bhubaneswar: Students from Visva-Bharati University, who had embarked on a cycle rally from Shantiniketan in Bengal, to sensitise the public about the importance of Odia language reached the state on Friday. The students have been trying to build public opinion in favour of the appointment of Odia teachers in academic institutions and put emphasis on the importance of the language.

Two nabbed

Rourkela: Police on Friday arrested Sukdev Pradhan, 40, and Agreta Minz, 35, of Jharkhand Badasah on Friday for 
allegedly trying to extort Rs 10 lakhs from brick kiln owner at Kindrikela.
