Lack of evidence

Berhampur: Ganjam district and sessions court acquitted Ananga Pradhan of Ranjubadi village. He was an accused in the rape of a 22-year-old nun in Kandhamal in 2008. Ganjam district and sessions judge Madhusudan Dhal acquitted him due to lack of sufficient evidence on Tuesday.

Bhubaneswar: Rajya Sabha member and Odisha Jan Morcha chief Pyari Mohan Mohapatra was admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi after he sustained a head injury on Tuesday evening. Mohapatra fell down outside his house and hurt his head. He was rushed to the hospital.
