Cease work

Bhubaneswar: Orissa High Court Bar Association has called a cease work on Wednesday “as a mark of protest” against the state government for neglecting the demand to withdraw its decision of abolishing the Odisha Administrative Tribunal. “We abstained from court work in the post-lunch session on Tuesday. We will continue to stay away from court proceedings on Wednesday. The future course of action will be decided at our general body meeting at 11am,” secretary of high court bar association B.K. Ragada said.

Peacock report

Bhubaneswar: The peacocks found dead at Madhupur village in Khurda district were not affected by aviation influenza, test reports have confirmed. Swabs were sent to the Bhopal-based High Security Animal Diseases Laboratory to determine the cause of the mysterious deaths of the birds.

Bhawanipatna: The two-day online registration and application process for reallocation of 124 students of Rajas Medical College in three private and two government-run colleges of the state began on Tuesday. 

Man arrested

Bhadrak: Police have arrested the owner of a textile showroom for allegedly cheating a businessman of around Rs 20 lakh.
