Nalco venture

Bhubaneswar: National Aluminium Company (Nalco) will interact with selected premier institutions and identify areas of mutual co-operation and collaboration. Nalco's chairman-cum-managing director  T.K. Chand will visit the 
institutes, including IIT Bhubaneswar, XIMB,  KISS and KIIT to 
interact with students and faculty.

3-yr-old dies

Baripada: A three-year-old tribal girl died and her younger sister was taken ill after they allegedly consumed insecticide by mistake at Kuanrpala in Mayurbhanj on Friday. Jhilli and Mili Sing, 2, were rushed to the Udala hospital where Jhilli died. Mili has been shifted to the Baripada district headquarters hospital.

Minor killed

Balasore: Nilgiri police on Friday arrested a 40-year-old man for murdering a minor girl. The accused, Yogendra Deuri, attempted to rape the victim, a resident of Junia village under Baunsabanika gram panchayat. He killed her when she resisted, said police.

Mines auction

Bhubaneswar: The state government will begin the auction process of 10 mines and complete it within a month. However, Khandadhar mine in Sundargarh will be excluded from the process. The government had earlier recommended it for Posco. Keonjhar’s Mankadmocha iron ore mine will also be excluded from the auction.

Three nabbed

Keonjhar: Police arrested three persons, including a couple for trafficking a 24-year-old widow to Haryana for 
Rs 15,000.
