Tourism project

Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to form Shamuka Tourism Development Corporation Limited (STDCL), a joint venture company, to fast track the Shamuka Beach Project. The project was conceived more than two decades ago, in over 3,000 acres on the sea beach near Puri. Odisha Tourism Development Corporation and Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation will have equal equity participation in the STDCL.    

Similipal

Baripada: The Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Mayurbhanj reopened on Sunday for tourists after the four month-monsoon break. The park was closed ahead of the monsoon as roads inside the STR get washed away during the rainy season.   

Students 

Koraput: The district administration has decided to enroll at least 100 students belonging to SC and ST communities in public schools under the urban education programme of the state government.
