OJEE probe

Bhubaneswar: The state government has directed the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination to probe into the illegal
admission in MBBS and BDS streams by authorities of Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital, Rourkela this year. The Medical Council of India had decided not to allow admission into MBBS and BDS streams this year citing lack of
infrastructure in the college.

Maoist held

Sambalpur: A Maoist was injured in a gunfight between security personnel and rebels at Chintagumpha forest on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border on Monday. Police arrested the injured rebel and admitted him to a local hospital. In another development, suspected Maoists set a truck on fire at the border near Narayanpur
forest.

Corrigendum

Bhubaneswar: The photograph of Prativa Ray was carried inadvertently in place of Pratibha Satpathy
(in picture) in the report “Odia authors split over protest mode” in The Telegraph’s October 12 edition. The error was unintentional and is deeply regretted.
