Bhadrak: Tamil Nadu police took to the state a 22-year-old murder accused after arresting him from his Bhadrak village.
Manas Behera of Barapadi village had killed Amar Khatua, 32, at Thuraipattam in Tamil Nadu on February 18 following a dispute over money. He had fled to Bhadrak after the murder.
Police said Manas and Amar rented a room together and worked at a private company in Tamil Nadu. Manas had taken a loan Rs 5,000 from Amar but he did not return it even after months. The two got into a fight and Manas hit him with a heavy wooden object resulting in his death on the spot. Then he fled from the room locking it from the outside.
The private company officials informed the local police when neither of the two turned up for work. The police broke open their room the next evening and found Khatua's body with injury marks on it. The cops them found out Behera's address and came to Odisha to arrest him.
Bhadrak additional superintendent of police K.C. Parida said: "The accused, Manas... has been taken to Tamil Nadu by Thuraipattam police."
