Bhubaneswar, March 20: The Odisha Joint Entrance Examinations (OJEE) authorities today extended the last date of application for this year's exam till March 25.
Besides, students seeking admission to newly introduced courses like Masters in Planning and Sustainable Development (MPlan) can also apply for the exam by visiting the OJEE website, said OJEE Secretary Priyabrata Sahoo. The MPlan course can be pursued by students who have a bachelor's degree in architecture, planning, civil engineering or a master's degree in economics, geography, sociology, anthropology, environmental science, statistics, or social works with specialisation in community development and rural development.
The OJEE scores will also be used for admission to bachelor's degree courses in homeopathy (BHMS), ayurveda (BAMS), and pharmacy (BPharm), master's degree courses in computer applications (MCA), business administration (MBA), technology (MTech), pharmacy (MPharm) and architecture (MArch), postgraduate diploma courses in management, dual master's degree in applied management (MAM) with master's in computer applications (MCA).The examination is scheduled on May 10. Around 40,000 applications have reached the OJEE till now, said Sahoo. This is the second time the authorities have announced an extension of the last date for application. The admit cards can be downloaded from April 20 and the results will be declared by June 1.
Unlike last year, the OJEE authorities will conduct the medical counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in state colleges. This year, around 37,000 students from the state have applied for the All-India pre-medical test (AIPMT), which will be held on May 3. Till last year, the department of medical education and training conducted the medical counselling for the AIPMT qualifiers.#
Around 72 centres will be set up across the state. The applicants can download their admit cards from the JEE website. They have to fill in their name and roll number to access and download the admit card. They must have their own personal and valid email address. They are also advised to have their own mobile number. The candidates are advised to retain the same mobile number and email address, which they have furnished in the application form, as the important information may be delivered to the candidates via SMS texts or emails," Sahoo said.
