Bhubaneswar, Sept. 5: A learning application for students, PraDigi, was launched in the city today that aims to help students understand critical issues in arithmetic, sciences and languages.

Apart from these three subjects, the app contains colouring and music games options.

The digital initiative, a project of Pratham, offers children interactive content to improve their basic alphabetical and mathematical skills, support their subject-specific competencies, and promote their ability to think critically and work collaboratively.

There are separate games for age groups of three to six (pre-primary), six to 10 (primary) and eight to 14 (upper primary).

The games have been named as 'Kheli Badi', 'Khel Poori', and 'Dekha O Sikha' respectively.

At present, 25 games and more than 500 videos, are available for three age groups in 11 Indian languages, including Odia. The application that runs on Android platform can be downloaded from Google playstore. The games are available in both online and offline mode.

Pratham is working with the school and mass education department in implementing effective methods of learning in 300 government-run schools in the state. A tablet will be provided to each school free of cost that will come with the preloaded PraDigi app.

'Apart from games, there will be quizzes and reading materials to create inquisitiveness among children, who are often exposed to the traditional methods of learning in school,' said Dhanandakanta Mishra, adviser of Pratham.
