
Bhubaneswar: Youngsters from the state have come up with a number of music videos and songs on the occasion of car festival.
Parth Oza is working on back to back projects for multiple shows and he recently recorded a few new bhajans for the rath yatra.
"I have a spiritual connection with the Lord and one of the best ways to connect with him is through music. I hope people will like the songs and feel an association with the Lord," he said.
These bhajans have been composed by his father Sanjay Oza and written by Tushar Joshi. Oza, who has also sung for a number of Gujarati films, has a wide musical repertoire and enjoys a big fan following when it comes to live performance.
OdishaLIVE, the digital portal from Odisha, has endeavoured to create a divine atmosphere on the social media and woo youngsters with devotional songs.
The OdishaLIVE team is uploading devotional songs on Facebook since Snan Purnima to Niladri Bije. The same tracks will be promoted on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and other social media channels.
The campaign to promote devotional songs is named " He Chakanayana".
The title has been derived from popular Odia devotional singer Shantilata Barik Chhotray's classic bhajan "He Chakanayana", which will be the first bhajan of the campaign. The bhajans was released on the day of Snana Purnima on Facebook.
He Chakanayana has Odia devotional classics such as -Jagabandhu He Gossain, Chandana lagi Samaye Chitta Chintamaniki, Balirenu Mahabandha Sujane He, Se ta Bhakata Bhaba re Bandha, Bhuja tale Mate Rakha He Mahaprabhu and Chakan-ayanaku Patita Kehi.
"These famous devotional songs have been sung numerous times by Odia singers, including Shantilata Barik Chhotray, Manmath Mishra, Susmita Das, Arabinda Muduli, Bijay Jena, Mahaprasad Kar, Sudha Mishra, Namrata Mohanty and Sourav Nayak," said Nilambar Rath who is involved with the promotion of these devotional songs.
Another group of youngsters, who have created a stage play based on bhajans of Lord Jagannath, plan to stage it at various locations across the city during the car festival.`
"The play will be an opportunity to connect with the Lord," said Ananya Mohapatra, a member of the group.
They will stage various rituals such as Sri Gundicha yatra, bahuda yatra, suna besha, adhara niti and Niladri Bije.
A number of cultural programmes will also be held during the festival in Puri, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
