Bhubaneswar, Jan. 30: Police have held four persons in connection with the murder of Sanjay Kumar Gouda, a trader from Rasulgarh that took place last Thursday.

While the detainees are being interrogated, Sanjay’s brother Bijay Gouda, who is also a businessman, today alleged he was getting threat calls from one of the accused.

Sources said while two of the detainees were businessmen from Rasulgarh, the other two hailed from Khalikote in Ganjam, the home district of Sanjay who reportedly had a fight with the accused over a plot of land.

Police claimed to have found the murder weapon, a dagger. Sanjay was beheaded on Thursday night near his shop. Police, who are on the hunt for the accused, suspect the role of two of Sanjay’s employees in the crime. Sanjay’s nephew, who is absconding, is also under suspicion.

Sources said the murder was planned by some goons and helped by the victim’s nephew. The accused hailed from Ganjam. On the night of January 27, they came to Rasulgarh in an autorickshaw. Sanjay was called by the two youths who worked in his shop.

His family members alleged that after getting a call from the shop, Sanjay went to the place on a motorcycle with his nephew. There, the goons, beheaded him and fled.

Bijay today alleged that one of the accused, Swadhin, who had been jailed following a complaint by the Gouda brothers in the past, was threatening him.
