Guwahati, June 15: Tridev Buragohain clinched the under-19 title in the sixth GTC Chess Grand Prix, 2015, held on the Gauhati Town Club premises here yesterday.

Tridev was followed by Uddipta Kakati, Debanga Kalita, Abhilekh Mahanta, Abhilash Gautam, Neeraj Pratap Hazarika, Daiyaan Ahmed, Nitish Das, Maharnav Deka and Vishesh Bajaj in the second to 10th places respectively in the under-19 event.

The tournament was held in two categories - under-9 and under-19.

Jenifa Islam, Anoushka Priyam and Shruti Kothari occupied the top three slots in the under-19 girls' event.

In the under-9 category, Prangovinda Parasar Kashyap lifted the crown followed by Jayaditya Das and Shaurya Jalan in the second and third places. Reshal Agarwal, Ananya Deka and Archi Gupta were adjudged the top three among the girls.
