Three held for IED blast

Three persons have been arrested in connection with an IED blast near a BSF camp in Manipur’s Thoubal district, police said on Monday. The blast occurred around 7.30pm on Sunday near a BSF camp at Wangjing Tekcham area, in which no security personnel was injured, he said.

Samples negative

ICMR-RMRC, Dibrugarh have so far tested 78 samples in their lab and found all samples to be negative. “We have carried out 78 tests till 6pm on Monday and all of them have turned out to be negative,” said Biswajyoti Borkakoty, senior scientist and nodal officer of the Regional Viral Research and Diagnostics Laboratory. A truck driver from Punjab was admitted to the isolation ward of the AMCH on Tuesday after he developed symptoms similar to that of coronavirus.

Rail staff admitted

A railway employee was admitted to Haflong civil hospital on Monday after he developed symptoms similar to that of coronavirus. He recently arrived from Bihar. In Karbi Anglong, a man, his wife, two children and a relatives who returned from a wedding in Uttar Pradesh three days back, have been put under home quarantine.

Closure order

The district issued an order that all shops, all other business establishments, hotels and restaurants will remain closed from 6am on Tuesday to 9pm on Friday.

13 arrested

The special investigation cell of state police investigating the alleged malpractices in the LDC/JSA examination conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) in February has arrested 13 more persons in connection with the case. SIC (vigilance) superintendent of police Harsha Vardhan said, “The total arrests in the case has risen to 16.”

Arms seized

Police seized one .22 rifle along with one magazine and four rounds of .22 live ammunitions from the possession of Khruvota Mosayi from Dimapur in Karbi Anglong.

Man killed

One man and another seriously injured when two persons attacked them with machete on Sunday night at Lower Haflong in Dima Hasao. The incident occurred when the two victims were returning home in the evening. The duo were stopped and atta-cked with a machete. The reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
