Why Tandoorbar Restaurant?
The mantra of the eatery is “dine with delight”. Dishes that are guaranteed to excite the taste buds of gourmets supplement its tranquil ambience. Tandoorbar brings together all that is mouth-watering for any food lover. Patrons of this new eatery in the city are pampered with food that tickles the taste buds and is healthy as well.
Within a few months, the restaurant has achieved a reputation for specialising in Indian, Chinese, Assamese and tandoori dishes.
Service
Uniformed stewards welcome patrons to the eatery, which operates from 10 am to 10.30 pm. The restaurant remains open throughout the week. The service is prompt, though the place is always crowded.
First Impression
The eatery is big and spacious. With a seating capacity of 60 visitors at a time, the owners have done a good job with the interiors. A cool and tranquil ambience, along with soothing music makes dining a delightful experience.
On The Menu
The menu card is elaborate, and points at the fact that the food is sure to be as good.
The menu is well divided to cater to the needs of all hours of the day, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner.
From the quintessential bread-butter and jam to the north Indian chhola bhatura, the breakfast menu is lined up with all the popular dishes. Snacks like paneer pakora, gobi pakora, onion pakora, cheese balls, French fries, fish fingers, masala papad, chicken cutlet and chicken spring roll are also on the menu.
Starters include vegetable sweet corn soup, chicken sweet corn soup, vegetable-mushroom soup, vegetable special tandoor soup, chicken-mushroom soup, chicken hot and sour soup and cream of tomato soup.
One can also have a taste of Kashmiri pulao, chicken biryani, Hyderabadi mutton biryani, peas pulao, lachcha paratha, masala kulcha, Kashmiri naan and tandoori roti.
A wide range of dishes in paneer such as paneer kofta curry, paneer pasinda, paneer tikka masala and kadhai paneer are a delight for vegetarians. Other vegetarian dishes are stuffed capsicum, nav-ratan korma, green peas masala, gobi masala and Kashmiri aloo dum, to name a few. Fish being the favourite item in this part of the country, a variety of curries including fish curry puthi, prawn fry, fish masala and fish curry barali are prepared in the eatery.
The list of Indian dishes goes on to include duck curry, chicken curry, pigeon curry and mutton curry to name a few.
Popular Chinese dishes are also served.
Variation
Mouth-watering Assamese dishes from every nook and cranny of the state are its speciality. From the typical pigeon curry with papaya to puthi tenga, the variety is wide and tempting. Some other Assamese delights are brinjal fry with besan, pigeon aloo fry, duck curry with pumpkin and shol fish curry with spinach and brinjal.

If you happen to pay a visit to the eatery, don’t forget to try the wide array of tandoori dishes and kebabs. Some of the delicious kebabs rustled up in the eatery are the vegetarian sheekh kebab, chicken sheekh kabab, fish tandoor, paneer tikkas, chicken tikka and tandoori chicken.

Though the place is spacious enough, some more tables and chairs need to be added.

The eatery has plans to conduct a survey to gauge which dishes are popularly enjoyed by foodies.

“The place has an assortment of popular Indian dishes. However, authentic Assamese dishes are the USP of the place,” said Radhika Sharma, a homemaker.
