Guwahati, Sept. 14: P.C. Sorcar Young, who mesmerised the city audience with his magic over the past few days, has announced that the Saraighat bridge vanishing act would be translated into action next year.
Sorcar’s Indrajaal show, organised by the Confederate, a social organisation, in aid of orphans at the Don Bosco auditorium, ended this evening.
“The Saraighat magic will not be possible now since the equipment required for the act has to be brought from Calcutta,” said Sorcar.
The magician had on Wednesday claimed that his wand could make the Saraighat bridge disappear for a full five minutes, sparking excitement among the citizens.
Youngest of Padmashree Jadusamrat P.C Sorcar’s sons, Provas Chandra Sorcar Young said he would require two months to prepare for the act since several factors, including weather, had to be taken into consideration for the trick.
Confederate president Prakash Goduka said his organisation would approach the state government and the Northeast Frontier Railways for permission on Sorcar’s behalf.
“The magic might be just an illusion, but we intend to take permission from the authorities concerned and seek the views of the people to avoid any controversy,” said Mukesh Mishra, Confederate secretary.
