Das to lead ONGC team

Guwahati: A 15-member ONGC team, led by Ranji Trophy player Sumit Ranjan Das, left for Silchar on Friday to participate in the ONGC Challenge prize-money cricket meet, to be held at the S.M. Dev Stadium from Saturday. Altogether 12 teams from Mizoram, Meghalaya, Silchar, Hailakandi and Guwahati will participate in meet.

RBI vs BSNL

Guwahati: The Reserve Bank of India will play Bha-rat Sanchar Nigam Ltd in the inaugural match of the 18th Girish Chandra Goswami inter-bank cricket meet, hosted by UCO Bank Staff Club at Latasil ground from Saturday. Altogether eight teams will participate in the tournament.

Assam up

Guwahati: Assam Police will meet holders Punjab Police in a semi-final match of the fifth all-India police tennis meet in Jalandhar. The Assam team, comprising S.B. Kakati, Pratul Phukan, Kanak Deka and Indra Gogoi, defeated Madhya Pradesh Police 2-1 in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Power meet

Guwahati: The tenth inter-power sector cricket meet, hosted by Neepco under the aegis of the Power Sports Control Board, will be held here from February 21. Eight teams, including holders Bhakra Beas Management Board, will take part.
