Assam colts meet Orissa in Jorhat
Guwahati: Hosts Assam will meet Orissa in their last match of the C.K. Nayudu Trophy (under-22) East Zone tournament in Jorhat from Wednesday to Friday. Assam, with 11 points in their kitty, will look for an outright win over Orissa (five points) to book a berth in the knockout stage. Ranji Trophy opener Parvez Aziz, who missed the previous match against Jharkhand last week because he was part of the national team in the under-19 Test against England in Jamshedpur, joined the state under-22 team on Tuesday. Parvez scored 58 in the Test. One player ? probably Chandan Rawat, Gokul Sarma or Jason Lamare ? will be dropped to accommodate Parvez because three Ranji players cannot be fielded in a match.Ankurjyoti up
Guwahati: Ankurjyoti Cricket Coaching Centre handed a 69-run defeat on hosts Star Cricket Coaching Academy B in the inaugural match of the Ashrafur Rahim (Raju) memorial invitation inter-high school cricket tournament here on Tuesday. Batting first, Ankurjyoti made 145 all out in 20 overs, riding Deuti?s unbeaten 70. Later, Pankaj hauled five for 22 to skittle out Star Academy B for 76 in 11.4 overs.
