Guwahati, May 11: Top seed Rishideep Bordoloi of Delhi Public School, Duliajan, Simran Ahmed of St John’s School, Amalan Mahanta of Kendriya Vidyalaya IOC, Piyush Upadhyaya of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Borsajai and Prachurjya Gayan of Holy Home School were leading the field with full three points each after the third round in the Bishop group of the 24th P.C. Borooah Children’s Chess tournament at Shilpgram here today.

In the top board, Rishideep beat Debanga Koushik Bhattacharyya of Delhi Public School of Guwahati. However, second seed Vaskar Vijay Mech of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Borsajai went down to unseeded Prachurjya Gayan.

Simran Ahmed beat Twinkle Patgiri of Don Bosco, Tinsukia, Amlan outplayed Priyambada Dutta of Srimanta Sankar Academy and Piyush Upadhyaya outwitted Tridev Buragohain of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara to be in the lead.

Debanga Koushik Bhattacharyya, Vaskar Vijay Mech, Priyambada Datta, Tridev Buragohain, Twinkle Patgiri, Nitish Das of City Faculty, Mehul Pasari of Sarala Birla Gyanjyoti, Abhilekh Mahanta of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Rajgarh, Pallab Bhattacharyya of South Point School, Rishav Deuri of Don Bosco School, Guwahati, Aryavrat Panghal, Bishal Patowari and Shivangini Bhattacharya of Delhi Public School, Guwahati and Dinangka Sarma of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara were in next position with two points each. In the Pawn group, top seed Prachurjya Das of Srimanta Sankar Academy, Aryan Sonowal of Duliajan, Prithwish Das of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Six Mile and Uddipta Kakati of Delhi Public School were leading with three points each after the third round.

Prasurjya Das beat Harsha Sarma of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Rajgarh while unseeded Aryan Sonwal beat Niraj Thakuria and another unseeded player Uddipta Kakati outsmarted Dhritiman Bez of Axam Jatiya Vidyalaya to be in the lead.

Second seed Satabdajit Sarma Baruah of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Mangoldai and Debanga Baruah of Don Bosco School, Guwahati were following the leaders with 2.5 points each.

Third seed Bidisha Sarma of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Rajgarh was held to a draw by unseeded Rajesh Kalita of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara.

Bidisha shared the third position along with 10 others.
