Guwahati, Feb. 9: River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre sealed their place in the final of the fifth Hemanta Baruah Inter-Institution Under-16 Cricket Tournament, defeating Gauhati Town Club Cricket Academy by 43 runs in the second semi-final at Latasil playground here today.

Put in to bat, River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre put up a competitive total of 204 runs before being all out in 28.5 overs.

Nikhil Basfor topscored for his side with a fine knock of 75 runs off 60 deliveries, including eight fours and three sixes while Daniel Sereng contributed 31 runs off 32 balls, which featured three hits to the fence and one over the ropes.

Himjyoti Sharma was another notable contributor with a run-a-ball 22 runs, including two boundaries.

Debopratim Sarma picked up three wickets, conceding 38 runs in his allotted six overs while Sanjay Basfor scalped two wickets going for 24 runs in his five overs.

Sushanta Das took one wicket for 24 runs in his three overs.

In reply, Gauhati Town Club Cricket Academy batsmen could only manage 161 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 30 overs.

Shayan Dey topscored for his side with 51 runs off 67 deliveries, including four boundaries and two sixes while Bishal Goswami chipped in with 47 runs off 77 balls, which featured four hits to the fence and one over the ropes.

Zibbran Das was the other notable contributor for his side with 19 runs off 22 deliveries, including three boundaries.

Chinmoy Deka, Sameer Sharma and Haidar Islam picked up two wickets each.

River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre will face Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre in the final tomorrow.
