Guwahati, Nov. 2: Baba Ramdev will visit Assam on Sunday for the foundation-stone laying ceremony of Patanjali Herbal and Mega Food Park at Balipara in Sonitpur district.
The Rs 1,000-crore project will manufacture a wide range of products, including cosmetics, nutrition and kitchen essentials.
This is the first ever project of Patanjali in Assam and the first major private investment project of the BJP government in the state. The annual production capacity of the plant will be 657,000 metric tonnes.
The Balipara unit will generate direct employment for over 4,000 people.
The Patanjali Herbal and Mega Food Park is located at Assam Industrial Development Corporation Complex at Ghoramari in Tezpur.
Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal will lay the foundation stone at 11am. Prior to that, there will a yagna at 10am.
Patanjali Ayurved managing director Acharya Balkrishna will also attend the ceremony along with Baba Ramdev.
Several senior ministers of the state will attend the programme.
