Jorhat, Sept. 20: The ONGC has set a target of 600 tonnes per day (tpd) target for the Jorhat asset of the company, an increase of 50 per cent over the current production of 400 tonnes.

Director (onshore) V.P. Mahawar during his recent visit, appreciated the efforts of the team headed by R.K. Vij, ED-asset manager, but said it should try to achieve the assigned Mission 600tpd.

The Jorhat asset, set up a couple of months ago, covers operations in Jorhat and Golaghat districts and concentrated mainly along the Assam-Nagaland border.

Mahawar also visited Borholla where he inaugurated two 400 cubic metre tanks and a bachelor accommodation. The two tanks will improve the process management at Borholla gas gathering station and the accommodation facility will improve the quality of living of field personnel, which in turn improve their efficiency.

In line with the Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for the Northeast, ONGC is concentrating on the augmentation of oil and gas production from the area.

Explaining the mission, Mahawar said without a dream, it is difficult to achieve things. Vij said all efforts are being made to increase production. Mahawar told the employees: "It does not matter how long you stay here but set up goals and a plan for 15 years for development of the region."
