Kohima, Sept. 26: A daylong consultative meeting on Nagaland special economic zone and Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act sponsored by state government and attended by top government officials, NGOs, political parties and intellectuals ended inconclusive as there were mixed reaction to both issues.
The Naga Hoho asked for series of further consultations on SEZ, while Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisations distanced from the vision policy, simply stating that it cannot support the government’s initiative at this juncture. ENPO covers four districts of Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng.
Hoho president Chuba Ozukum said it neither opposes nor supports the proposal at this juncture but there has to be discussions on certain loopholes in the state Assembly, like transfer of land and inner-line permit.
