Nagaland HSLC, HSSLC results out

Kohima, May 21: The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) declared the HSLC (Class X) and HSSLC (Class XII) examination results today.

Of the 21,310 students who appeared for the HSLC exams, 13,535 passed, putting the overall pass percentage at 63.51 per cent. Recognised private schools, with a pass percentage of 88.36 per cent, did better than government schools, with a pass percentage of only 37.25 per cent.

In the HSSLC exams, the overall pass percentages in the arts, commerce and science streams were 65.14 per cent, 81.75 per cent and 68.72 per cent respectively.

Of the 9,288 arts students who appeared for the exams, 6,050 passed. In the commerce stream, 1,111 students qualified out of 1,359. And in the science stream, 1,639 students were successful out of a total of 2,385.

Through the HSLC Result Gazette, NBSE chairman Asano Sekhose asked the concerned centre superintendents/heads of registered institutions to collect the marksheets and certificates of qualifications by May 28.

Addendum/corrigendum of any mistakes in the marksheet must be reported within 30 days after the publication of the Result Gazette for rectifications. Re-scrutiny of answer scripts is permitted in maximum two subjects. Applications for re-scrutiny should be routed through the school/centre.

The fees for re-scrutiny is Rs 200 per subject and it should reach the NBSE office by June 5, along with the original copy of the mark-sheet, admit card and certificate of qualification. The rechecked results shall be out within 45 days after declaration of results.

Free legal help

Mayang Lima, member secretary of the Nagaland State Legal Service Authority, inaugurated the Combined Front Office for Legal Aid, Permanent Lok Adalat and Mediation Centre for Mon district today on the premises of the court of the additional district and sessions judge.

The purpose of the office will be to provide free legal aid to people whose annual income is below Rs 1 lakh and to reduce the backlog of cases, Lima said. A panel of six judges will be available in the front office.

He also spoke about Legal Aid Clinic Schemes, 2010. The objective of the scheme was to provide legal service to the poor and maginalised sections of society, he said.

Lima also discussed cyber crime and the Nagaland Village and Area Councils Act.
