Maharaj college triumph 3-1

Maharaj Bodhchandra College emerged winners, beating Dhanamanjuri College of Sciences -1 in the A. Pratap Singh Memorial Inter-College Men's Football Tournament, 2015-16, played at B.M. College at Sawombung in Imphal East.

INTER COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Imphal, April 25: Maharaj Bodhchandra College emerged winners, beating Dhanamanjuri College of Sciences -1 in the A. Pratap Singh Memorial Inter-College Men's Football Tournament, 2015-16, played at B.M. College at Sawombung in Imphal East.

Y. Bipin Singh of Dhanamanjuri College scored the opening goal in the seventh minute. N. Shankar Singh fetched the equaliser for Maharaj Bodhchandra College in the 10th minute.

Just before the first half, Maharaj Bodhchandra College consolidated in the 26th minute when N. Narendra Singh scored the team's second goal. The second half proved more fruitful for Maharaj Bodhchandra College when N. Radhakanta Singh scored the winning goal in the 53rd minute.

Maharaj Bodhchandra player Babool Singh and Dhanamajuri College player Soheb Khan were shown yellow cards .

Nganbi Devi Football: ASA Akhampat clinched the champion's title beating BPYC Bashikhong 3-1 in the fourth Th. Nganbi Devi Memorial Football Tournament, 2016, played at Khongman.

Kh. Anil, Kh. Sanathoi and Kh. Suraj Singh scored a goal each for Akhampat while the lone goal for Bashikhong was fetched by Babulu Singh. Akhampat collected Rs 20,000 while Bashikhong team had to be content with Rs 15,000 as prize money.

The third place was taken by NYTHC Okram Chuthek, beating host Social Worker Congress 3-1. NYTHC received Rs 10,000 as prize money. Indibor Singh of ASA Akhampat was adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament.
