Kokrajhar, Feb. 5: The All Bodo Students’ Union today expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the Bodo belt which it said was affecting the education scenario.

Speaking on the 39th annual convention of Kokrajhar district unit of Absu in Gossigaon college ground yesterday, union general secretary Goutam Mushahary said the situation affected the people, instilling fear and resulting in a visible fall in academic standards.

As a result, youths have been taking to illegal activities and drug abuse, he said. Mushahary urged Bodo intellectuals, community leaders and elders to shoulder the responsibility of the youth and children.
