Kokrajhar, June 25: A powerful IED weighing 5kg was recovered this morning from Uttar Kulabil village in Udalguri district.

Children of the village noticed freshly dug-up earth along the road and informed the village elders, who in turn told the 315 Field Regiment (Kargil) of the army’s Red Horns Division based in Udalguri.The locals handed over one person to the army, one managed to escape and the third, Subung Boro, is in the government hospital, Harisingha, after being beaten up. “Investigations revealed that all three are cadres of NDFB (anti-talks),” the army said.

The IED was recovered by troops of the 315 Field Regiment (Kargil) and 61 Engineer Regiment.
