Games committee meet
The core committee of the 2005 National Games will meet here on Monday to finalise the sites and venues of the mega-event.
The members would discuss the technical committee report that recommended Sarusojai as the site for the main stadium, while suggesting that the indoor stadium and velodrome be built in Tepesia.
Sources said the government might veto the committee’s report since there would be legal problems in clearing nearly 15 bighas of land in Sarusojai. The site also has to be filled up with soil, a costly exercise.
