Nuruddin Trophy

Silchar, Feb. 15: Guwahati today sent hosts Silchar on a leather hunt, posting a crippling 430 for five on Day II of the four-day Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy inter-district cricket championship final here at the S.M. Dev Stadium.

Led by an unbeaten 128 from Nishanta Bordoloi, his second hundred in the meet, and a 98 by Souvik Das, who is playing his first competitive match of the season, Guwahati exposed the yawning gap between the two teams. Das fell to a close lbw decision.

Overnight batsmen Sajjad Hussain (62) and Vishal Jain (67), set the tone for an all-out attack.

Bordoloi, who scored a double ton against Barpeta in the quarterfinals, was in scintillating form after sitting out the Ranji Trophy season owing to an injury.

Giving him company was Situ Das on 18 at the draw of stumps.

Silchar spinners Sabbir Laskar and Prakash Bhagat took two and one respectively, while medium-pacer Subra Dev captured two wickets.
