Guwahati: Annapurna Group, a home-grown FMCG company dealing in agro-based and dairy products headquartered in Guwahati, is going pan-India in the next three years.
The 66-year-old company, which had just launched ready-to-eat products, has finalised plans to spread its business across the country in the next three years.
"Annapurna Group believes in the concept of catering good food and has relentlessly strived towards meeting the expectations of its customers and stakeholders. The products have been built with the vision to serve purity and goodness," Subir Ghosh, managing director of the company, told The Telegraph.
The company has six factories, of which five are in Assam and one in Uttar Pradesh, and also does contract packaging in two to three areas outside Assam. "Within this year, we are setting up a factory here in the dairy sector and another in Northeast by the year-end," he said.
The company was in the dairy sector and then diversified into agro-based food products and fruit beverages.
The company is planning to include sandwich spreads, mayonnaise, salsa sauce, honey mustard sauce and pasta sauce in the category of "Gennext" products.
"There has been a 30 per cent growth since the last year," he said.
Ghosh said "Your right to purity" is the belief that has been inculcated as the brand philosophy of Annapurna Group. "The Annapurna Group factories are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and modern machinery manufacturing the products in the most hygienic way," he said.
The products are available in Assam, Bihar, Odisha, Bengal, Jharkhand, Agartala, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Sikkim and New Delhi.
He said by 2021, the group plans to head for the global market with a more enriched basket of products.
The company would target West Asia and SAARC countries in its global plans.
S. Bhattacharjee, executive director of North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd, said the group has done considerably good and is now a known brand with its products available all across. "The product quality is very good, competitively priced and is run professionally," he said.
