Guwahati, Sept. 10: The Guwahati audition of the Fitness League of India (FLI), a fitness reality show, to be held at Chisel, a gym co-owned by Virat Kohli, here on Tuesday, will kickstart the auditions for the event to be held across 17 cities in the country.

FLI, claimed to be India's biggest fitness reality show, is being promoted by Tarun Gill, founder of TG Connect and a fitness influencer with a strong social media presence, adventure reality show MTV Roadies host Rannvijay Singh Singha, and entrepreneur MohitJoon.

Gill and Singha will handpick people from across the country to participate in the competition with a prize-money of Rs 3 crore, two Harley Davidsons and a role in a Bollywood film. The winners in the male and female categories will win Rs 1.5 crore each, a Harley Davidson and an opportunity to bag a role in a film. Participants will not be restricted to just sportsmen and athletes but anyone who is a fitness enthusiast.

'After the launch of the YouTube channel Tarun Gill Fitness and interviewing over 300 bodybuilders and athletes, I realised people in India, especially youngsters, have become so obsessed with aesthetics that they have forgotten the essence of staying fit and functional. Acquiring a six-pack has become the gold standard of fitness but the truth is that the fittest people in the world don't really have six-packs nor are they aesthetic. Fitness is about staying fit and happy. After recognising over 200 athletes in the country through TG Connect, we realised fitness in India is still not in the mainstream and is limited to bodybuilding. We want to break the stereotype and revolutionise the Indian fitness industry by giving people an opportunity to showcase their fitness levels,' Gill said.

FLI aims to provide a career option, helping youngsters to earn money every season. The participants are guaranteed to get a minimum amount of Rs 1 lakh each. More than 96 selected participants will be divided into 16 teams. The teams will be required to perform a number of activities and showcase special skills that combine games, sports and stunts.

Those selected in the auditions will be made to contest in a final round to be held in Mumbai. Between 25 and 50 participants are likely to be selected in the Guwahati audition, for people from the Northeast. The show is likely to go on air in December.

FLI co-founder MohitJoon said, 'The format of FLI is very simple - testing people on their physical skills. We are not looking for bodybuilders or fitness models but regular people who follow fitness as a lifestyle.'

The criteria for being eligible to participate in FLI is not restricted to any specific height, weight or age. The applicant needs to be 18 years and above. Anyone from working professionals to housewives can participate .There will be online and spot registration. A participation fee of Rs 2,000 will be charged.
