Imphal, July 29: Emmanuel School in Haipi, Kangpokpi, thrashed Mapun High School, Ukhrul, 3-0 at Khuman Lampak main stadium here today in a match of the State Inter-School Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament for under-14 boys.
Emmanuel School started the onslaught early in the match with Lhungousem ruffling the net in the second minute of the match. Skilfully managing the wet ground condition, Emmanuel School consolidated through Thangminlen in the 25th minute.
Mapun High School, who were having trouble dealing with the soggy conditions, got deeper into trouble when Lhungousem scored his second goal in the 34th minute to seal the victory.
In the other matches of the under-14 boys category, Pinjabati High School, Bishnupur, drubbed Brook Dale Higher Secondary School, Senapati, 9-0 while Integrated Manipur Academy beat Jiribam Public High School 8-0 and New Lamka JB School beat Emmanuel School, Chandel, 3-1.
As for the under-17 girls, Sofia English School, Thoubal, thrashed Jiribam Higher Secondary School 7-0. Silky Devi struck four goals while Y. Indika, Baleshwori Devi and Bidyaluxmi Devi scored a goal each. In the other matches, CT Higher Secondary School in Mayang, Imphal, beat Emmanuel's School, Chandel, 13-0 while Prep Sainik High School, Keithelmanbi, beat Lt Thomas Memorial School, Ukhrul, 6-0.
In the under-17 boys' category, Nilamani English School in Mayang, Imphal, drubbed R.K. Sanatombi Vidyalaya, Jiribam, 10-0. Maheschand scored a hattrick while Chingkhenganba fetched two goals, Hemba, L. Hellen, Shabasa, Romario and Chungmei chipped in with a goal each. The other matches saw Afrosh A. Higher Secondary School, Imphal East, beat LI Standards English School, Thoubal, 1-0 while Jesus and Mary School, Churachandpur, beat Awana Academy, Kangpokpi, 5-1.
YDO Sora win
YDO Sora beat KMSWC Keirak by a solitary goal at Kakching in Thoubal district in a match of the ninth Kishorkumar Memorial First-Division Football League. Hassan scored the winning goal in the 11th minute. In another match, KFC Kakching beat YWU Kakching 2-1. Rohit Singh and Dipu Singh scored for KFC while Jotin Singh was YWU's lone goal scorer.
