Guwahati, Dec. 19: Don Bosco Cricket Academy and Ankurjyoti Cricket Academy registered contrasting wins in their respective matches to advance in the seventh Golap Hazarika all-Assam Inter-Coaching Centre (under-14) prizemoney cricket tournament at Parade Ground here today.
The Bosconians inflicted a seven-wicket defeat on hosts City Cricket Coaching Centre (CCCC) A while Ankurjyoti boys got the better of Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre (A) by just five runs.
Batting first, CCCC (A) were restricted to 123 for nine in 24.4 overs, thanks to five scalps for 19 by Saurav Nath. In reply, the Don Bosco boys romped home after losing three wickets in 17 overs.
Pranjal Baruah (18) and Kastabmoni Das (16) were the notable scorers for the host sides. Dipankar Kalita topscored for Don Bosco with 31. He remained unbeaten.
Man of the match Sourav Nath and Chandan Singh contributed 23 runs each. Bulbul Saikia captured two wickets for 21 runs in favour of CCCC.
In the other match, Ankurjyoti Academy were all out for 158, with Harsha Bardhan Basumatary of GCCC (A) hauling five for 25.
In reply, the GCCC boys were all out for 153. Dhruba Kalita topscored for the Ankurjyoti side with 45 runs, to be adjudged man of the match, while Gaurav Kumar Das contributed 28.
For GCCC (A), Anjan Bezbaruah scored a breezy 40 and Hrishikesh contri-buted 31. Harsha Bardhan Basumatary also contri- buted a useful 23.
Alakesh of Ankurjyoti scalped three wickets for 19 runs.
Tomorrow, Latasil Cricket Coaching School will clash with Star Cricket Academy and Mangaldoi Cricket Coaching Centre will meet CCCC (B).
