Dibrugarh, March 19: A vibrant Dibrugarh Cricket Coaching Centre (DCCC) today defeated Guwahati Town Club (GTC) by 24 runs to enter the semi-finals of the Dibrugarh Challenge Day and Night T20 Cricket Championship currently under way at the Chowkidingee playground here.
DCCC won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 115 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Seasoned middle-order batsman Niranjan Das scored 28 runs while young opener Jyotiraditya Chetia contributed 24.
For GTC, Binoy Kalita claimed three wickets for 13 runs while Amit Sinha picked up two wickets giving away 23 runs.
In reply, GTC could manage only 91 runs losing nine wickets. Young speedster Ritupon Photowali came up with a fine spell of pace bowling giving away just 10 runs and dismissing three opponent batsmen. Pankaj Tamuli also captured two wickets for 17 runs. For GTC, Nayan Jyoti Das and Amit Sinha scored 12 runs each.
Photowali was later named Man of the Match.
Last evening, Bud Cricket Club, Guwahati, edged out Radiant Club, Sivasagar, by two runs.
Bud won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 129 losing all their wickets in 18.4 overs. In reply, the Sivasagar boys chased well but in the end fell just run short of their target.
Sadek Imran Chowdhury of Bud was declared the Man of the Match.
