Imphal, Nov. 27: The 57th edition of the Sir Churchand Singh Football Tournament, 2013 is scheduled to begin from December 4 at Mapal Kangjeibung here.

The All-Manipur Football Association had informed its constituent units to furnish the names of clubs for the qualifying rounds before today.

According to the association’s statement, the Imphal West District Football Association and Imphal East District Football Association will furnish three teams each.

DSA Bishnupur, DSA Kakching, DFA Thoubal and DSA Churchandpur have to submit two teams each, DSA Sadar Hills, DSA Ukhrul, DSA Senapati, AJSA Jiribam, DSA Tamenglong, DSA Chandel and DFA Moreh will send one team each for the qualifying rounds.

Only four teams will be picked up from the qualifying rounds for the final rounds.

Joining in the final rounds will be 10 teams from the Manipur State League, two teams each from Imphal West District and Imphal East District, one team each from Thoubal, Kakching, Churchandpur, Bishnupur and Sadar Hills.

Four outstation teams, including ARC Shillong, are expected to join from the final round as well, making a total of 27 teams in the final round, which is expected to kick off from the third week of December.

Teams seeded directly in the final round have to submit Rs 3,500 before December 5.

Seeded clubs willing to avail of players on loan must do so before November 30, according to an association statement.

Roller skating

The Assam Roller Skating Association will organise the second state roller skate championship at Khanapara in Guwahati on November 30 and December 1.

Interested skaters have been asked to contact the organisers for participation.

Lawn bowls

The Assam Lawn Bowling Association will organise the fifth inter-district lawn bowls championship at Sarusajai sports complex greens here from November 30 to December 2. Players from all the eight affiliated districts are expected to participate in the tournament.
