Dibrugarh, May 19: Ankur Baruah of Guwahati beat team-mate Pallab Deka to capture the men?s singles title in the second all-Assam ranking open badminton championship here today.

Baruah, who had lost to Deka 15-17, 9-15 in the Guwahati ranking meet early this month, defeated the latter 15-7, 6-15, 15-1 at the Dibrugarh District Sports Association indoor stadium this evening.

The women?s singles title clash between Anjali Kalita and Manali Sinha was on.

Rana Baruah of Sivasagar claimed the under-10 boys? title, beating Siddartha Phukon 15-13, 15-0. Home girl Pooja Bharali clinched the girls? title in the same age group, defeating Mayuri Phukon of Tinsukia 11-3, 11-3.

Parikshit Bhagawati won the under-19 boys? title defeating Hirakjyoti Neog 15-9, 15-9.
