Sivasagar: Debasish Khargharia, an ONGC employee accused of abetting the suicide of his parents, Rajani and Rubi, failed to turn up at Sivasagar police station on Wednesday.

The ONGC had in a notice asked Debasish to report to the police station by Wednesday after his younger sister filed an FIR against him. The ONGC also rejected his online leave application.

Debasish's parents allegedly committed suicide four days ago unable to bear his and his wife Gitashri's misbehaviour. Before committing suicide, Rajani had alleged in a written note that Gitashri had misbehaved with him.

The Sivasagar Bar Association has asked its members not to take up Debasish's case.

The All Assam Minority Students' Union has written to the education department to suspend Gitashri, teacher in a government school at Demow.
