Guwahati, Oct. 24: Music lovers can keep themselves free for a fun-filled weekend at the “Submerge Big Weekend” in Hotel Ginger here — a chance to meet Nikhil Chinapa and DJ Pearl and dance to some fabulous music played by the duo.

“Submerge Big Weekend” will be presented by Terra Maaya in association with Bluecheese Production and Electrovibe and powered by t2.

While the actual event will take place at Hotel Ginger in the city on October 27, the “Big Weekend Pre-Party” at Terra Mayaa will precede it on Saturday.

The pre-party will comprise some foot-tapping music by DJ Ambivalent from Germany.

Chinapa has always featured among the public’s list of favourite video jockeys. It is an even better experience to see him performing with his better half, DJ Pearl.

DJ Pearl is one of the top disc jockeys in the international music circuit. She also happens to be the only Indian DJ to have been invited to play at the Ministry of Sound in London.

The couple also happen to be the founders of Submerge, the company that organises the Submerge Annual Goa Project and co-promote Sunburn Festival every year.

“The “Submerge Big Weekend” is going to be a big musical event and after a span of 10 years, the famous VJ Nikhil Chinapa, accompanied by his wife, the equally famous DJ Pearl will visit the city after 10 years. It is going to be a massive outdoor event at Hotel Ginger. We are expecting at least 1,500 people,” said Monalisa Baruah, co-owner of Bluecheese Production.

“The public can look forward to dance to some wonderful music played by Nikhil and Pearl, who can be credited with bringing electronic dance music in a big way to the country,” said Baruah.

The event will also include supporting acts by DJ Dee, DJ Arpan, DJ Brahmin, DJ Larry and DJ Sev, all from the Northeast.
