Korean food lovers of Kolkata are in for a treat as the dine-and-dance corridor of the city, Park Street, is set to welcome a new addition to its food scene. Seoul Story, a Korean restaurant, is gearing up to open its doors on the fifth floor of Park Centre Building at 24, Park Street. This dine den is being helmed by Jung Seok, a well-known name among Korean pop culture enthusiasts in town, credited for Korean restaurant King’s Bakery and grocery store chain, Seela Mart.

Seoul Story“Since my first visit to Kolkata in 2014, I have been introducing Korean flavours to eager consumers. Seoul Story is a step up in the right direction,” Jung expressed with enthusiasm.
Among the star attractions that Seoul Story brings to Kolkata is Samgyeopsal, a dish that translates to “three layers of meat” in English. “This Korean grilled meat is one of the most popular dishes in Korea, and people in Kolkata can now experience it,” said the restaurateur whose hometown is Seoul.

ShutterstockIf you prefer to grill your meat, the 130-seater restaurant offers you a unique experience with tables equipped with chimneys. The chimney allows the smoke to escape the room as you get your grill on in the immersive Korean barbecue experience.
Adding more wow factor are the cherry blossom trees as decorative elements that form arches between seating arrangements, mirroring a tranquil Korean garden.
Jung Seok's vision extends beyond cuisine. The restaurant is poised to feature a dedicated Korean karaoke room, where patrons can delight in singing along to K-pop hits, while tucking into authentic Korean fare. The spacious room, with a seating capacity for 30, can be reserved in advance and offers hourly rates for its use.
To complement the dining experience, Seoul Story presents an impressive selection of beverages, including Soju, a smooth Korean vodka.
Speaking on what the future holds for the man behind proliferating Korean food in Kolkata, Jung says, “I would like to open Seoul Story in other Indian cities, and also introduce Korean cosmetics here.”
As Seoul Story prepares for its upcoming launch, Park Street will be more than just a culinary hotspot; it will also stand as a cultural crossroad where Kolkata’s foodies can indulge in authentic Korean flavours and experiences.
